According to him, government has rolled out plans to finish all roads started across the country.

"There are plans to fix the roads in Ho. As I speak with you, we are dualising the roads in Ho. "We are working on the Ho Town roads, he told Joy FM.

The protestors, largely drown from the Takla, Hodzo and Kpanoe Traditional areas, were cladded in red and wielding placards to express their anger.

Some of the placards read "no roads, no vote", "Our roads, our roads" among others.

The claim persistent appeals to the government to fix their roads have proved futile.

We are tired of the plenty lip services paid to our road and this time, we are resolute to boycott the elections if the road is not fixed," a protestor said.

The tear gas was fired after the crowd wanted to deviate from the designated protest roots to the premises of the District Assembly.

The agreement was that the leadership of the protestors will enter the premises of the assembly to present the petition to the assembly authorities.
