The Education Minister has cautioned teachers to stop charging extra classes fees from pupils.

Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang, Minister for Education

The Educations Minister, Professor Naana Opoku Agyemang has warned teachers who have been collecting fees to organise extra classes for their pupils to stop the practice because it is illegal.

The Minister incurred the wrath of some teachers over her latest attempt to stop them from organizing extra classes.

Speaking at the presentation of 14 buses to selected schools across the country on Monday, she urged teachers not to put pressure on the brains of their pupils, in the name of organizing extra classes, as the pupils as well as their brains had a limit as to what they could absorb.

According to her, teachers can cover all topics in the syllabus within the stipulated teaching hours adding that there is no need for extra classes.
