The inferno which happened on Friday morning is said to have destroyed equipment in the banking hall worth hundreds of cedis.

The cause of the fire is however unknown but it is believed that the fire might have started from the banks generating plant that had worked over night.

It is also not clear as to whether monies were consumed by the fire.

Volta Regional correspondent Anthony Kyirah reported that the swift response by the Ghana National Fire Service to a distress call saved the situation from escalating.
