Fire Guts Tamale Teaching Hospital Medical Stores

The Tamale Medical Stores at the Tamale Teaching Hospital is in flames and fire fighters are battling to bring the situation under control.

Reports from the hospital indicate that the fire started at around 8:15am destroying medical property running into thousands of Ghana cedis.

Fire fighters were able to get the fire under control to prevent it from spreading to other structures at the hospital.

Officials from the national fire service have started investigations into the fire but have blamed their initial findings on an electric fault.

This fire comes about two weeks after a fire gutted the Central Medical Stores in Tema causing the country to lose items estimated to cost over GHC200 million.
