International Police agency, Interpol is reportedly aiding in the FIFA investigations to test claims of massive corrupt deals in the governing body of world football.

Whereas corporate sponsors like Samsung and Visa pour money into FIFA’s coffers, in Interpol’s case it is the other way around: the largesse comes from FIFA. Millions of euros of soccer money flow into the law enforcement organization’s bank account each year, raising serious questions about conflicts of interest and Interpol’s impartiality.

Reports currently suggest that Interpol might just be another agency funded [bribed] by the world football association FIFA.

A report on Swiss website, Blick.ch claims that about four years ago, FIFA “donated” an amount of 20million euros to the police agency to help in its effort to combat fraud.

SVP National Roland Rino Büchel now raises fears that, the independence of Interpol, now tasked with the arrest of top FIFA officials, could have been compromised through that donation.

After insisting for several days that its collaboration with FIFA would continue as normal — Interpol apparently revealed to new website POLITICO that it had decided to “review” the arrangement. To many, this will seem like too little too late.
