Girl arrested for mixing boyfriend's food with grinded bottles

The Eastern Regional Police Command has arrested 19-year-old Abigail Asamoah for attempted murder.

Asamoah is accused of mixing grinded bottle with Okro stew to serve her boyfriend, Kwame Djan,29, a mason at Akuapem - Aperede.

The suspect accused Djan of cheating on her by dating his divorced wife.

The victim has since been treated at the Eastern regional hospital and discharged.

According to reports by Starr FM, the Public Relations Officer of the Eastern regional Police Command, ASP Nketia Yeboah said on July 9, 2015, the victim rushed to lodge a complaint at the Akuapem - Aperede Police station that the suspect had mixed grinded bottles with okro stew which he unsuspectedly ate hence developing severe stomach pains.

According to the Police PRO, the suspect was later arrested while medical forms were issued to the complainant for emergency medical care.

He said, the suspect, has admitted the offence during police interrogation explaining that, "she wanted to teach the boyfriend a lesson over his return to date his divorced wife".

The suspect has since been granted Police enquiry bail.
