Court dismisses application case against judicial committee

According to the judge, Justice Sophia Torkonoo, her decision was based on the fact that the  procedure used by the AG was right by law.

The Court hearing suits in relation to judges alleged  to have engaged in some corrupt practices has dismissed a preliminary objection by lawyers for the fourteen magistrates challenging the  procedure used by Attorney General to struck out their case against the probing committee

The AG on Monday filed an application asking the court to strike out the entire case brought by the fourteen lawyers  describing it as frivolous  and unsubstantiated.

The case has been adjourned to September 29.

Chief Justice Her Ladyship, Justice Georgina Theodora Wood has appointed Justice Gertrude Torkonu to handle all cases filed in the judicial corruption scandal.The Chief Justice is yet to establish a prima facie case against the 12 High Court Judges who have been implicated in the investigate work done by ace Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his Tigereyepi team.
