Kumasi based Angel FM which transmits on the 96.1 frequency has been closed down by the Ghana Revenue Authority.

The closure comes after a three months grace period given the station by the Ghana Revenue Authority to pay up an estimated 1.8 billion elapsed.

According to an insider who narrates the incidence to NYDJLive.com, the radio station which is well noted in the Ashanti Region for its sports shows has been locked up by the GRA with staff including security personnel currently hanging around the premises hoping for a better resolution soon.

The closure of the radio station happened today September 17, 2015. The station has since been off with no activities on the airwaves.

Barely four months ago, the National Media Commission also invaded the station’s premises for reasons yet unknown.

Angel FM is part of other business entities which have been closed down by the Ghana Revenue Authority. Other institutions include Georgia Hotel and Nurom hotel.
