Police vow to arrest Kasoa mob attackers

The Police in Kasoa in the Central Region are on a man hunt for persons who lynched suspected armed robbers in the area last Sunday.

Two persons died after a mob in the area meted instant justice to them.

Narrating the incident to Citi News, the Divisional Police Commander of the Kasoa, ACP Joseph Oklu said: “Now we have information that such an act happened in Kasoa. The Police went to the scene to verify on the information and when we went there we realised that it was true two people had been lynched so we had to convey them to the Police Hospital for autopsy.”

ACP Joseph Oklu said investigations into the incident are ongoing to arrest the culprits.

“Investigations are underway. Usually when such a thing happen and you go to the scene, the Police around are very tight-lipped. They will not want to give any information. That notwithstanding we have set up our machinery in progress to investigate and find out the perpetrators of this crime and let the law handle them appropriately”.

This is the second time in less than five weeks that some residents of Kasoa have engaged in mob justice.

Last month[August], one suspected armed robber in the area was also lynched and burnt to death.
