Mahama sends out condolences to bereaved families

President John Mahama has commiserated with families who have “lost loved ones” in the Kintampo accident which happened on Wednesday evening.

 

President John Mahama has commiserated with families who have “lost loved ones” in the Kintampo accident which occurred on Wednesday evening.

In a series of tweets some few hours after the accident, the President assured that the emergency services were "working to attend to injured passengers.”

Over 40 people are feared dead in a fatal accident in Kintampo in the Brong Ahafo Region Wednesday evening.

The accident occurred around 8.30pm when a Metro Mass Transit bus collided with a truck loaded with tomatoes on the Kintampo-Tamale highway.

According to Graphic online, several passengers were trapped under the bus.

As at the time of filing this report, Police officers were at the scene to control the situation.

The ghastly accident created a heavy vehicular traffic in the area.

Meanwhile, the injured have been taken to the hospital.
