'Heroic' cab driver receives 2-bedroom house from Mahama

The Minister of Water Resources Works and Housing, Dr. Kwaku Agyeman Mensah presented the keys to a cousin of the taxi driver on behalf of President John Mahama.

Two suspected robbers, Abaliku Sannie, 35 and Oko Quaicoo, 30 on Saturday, January 9, 2016, shot a worker of Cantonment branch of Koala Shopping Mall, after she had left the company.

The taxi driver, who witnessed the incident, rammed his taxi into the motorbike the suspected robbers were using to escape leaving his taxi severely damaged.

The president subsequently promised to reward the taxi driver with a house.

The Minister of Water Resources Works and Housing, Dr. Kwaku Agyeman Mensah said the presentation was in fulfillment of government's promise.

He encouraged Ghanaians to emulate the example of the taxi driver.

Meanwhile, the taxi driver has already received a brand new Toyota Corolla from the Ghana Police Service.

He has also received a brand new Chevrolet Optra Saloon car from Koala Supermarket.
