'Heroic' cab driver receives new Toyota Corolla from IGP

The brave taxi driver who foiled a robbery attack on a Koala employee has received a brand new Toyota Corolla from the Ghana Police Service.

 

The Inspector General of Police, John Kudalor on behalf of the Ghana Police Service presented the new car to a cousin of the taxi driver at the Police Headquarters on Monday.

Two suspected robbers, Abaliku Sannie, 35 and Oko Quaicoo, 30 on Saturday, January 9, 2016, shot a worker of Cantonment branch of Koala Shopping Mall, after she had left the company.

The taxi driver, who witnessed the incident, rammed his taxi into the motorbike the suspected robbers were using to escape leaving his taxi severely damaged.

The Police subsequently promised to reward the taxi driver for his bravery.

The presentation, the police said is in fulfillment of their promise to replace the car the taxi driver's car that got damaged.

Meanwhile, the taxi driver has already been rewarded with a house by President Mahama. He has also received a brand new Chevrolet Optra Saloon car from Koala Supermarket.
