Gov't given one week to sack KMA boss
At an emergency meeting by the Kumasi Traditional Council on Monday, the chiefs unanimously stated that they can no longer work with the KMA boss and are therefore calling on government to sack him.

The ultimatum comes on the back of an apology letter by Kojo Bonsu to the Kumasi Traditional Council after he allegedly took a unilateral decision to remove Amoamanhene, Nana Agyenim Boateng from the Kejetia Market project board without informing the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

In his apology letter, the KMA boss said: “I wish to render an unqualified apology to Asantehene Otumfour Osei Tutu II and Nananom for any actions and inactions on my part, which may have incurred their displeasure.”
Meanwhile, the Ashanti regional minister John Akon has said that the Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Kojo Bonsu is still at post.
This was after initial reports that Bonsu had been asked to step down for the regional minister to act in his stead until a new Chief Executive is appointed.
