Speaking on the Joy FM’s Super Morning Show Wednesday, Gyamfi said the former Mayor believed that he has served Kumasi well and that he felt it was time for another to continue in the interest of peace and stability.

He said: “Kojo Bonsu believes he has served the city, he has served the kingdom, he has contributed his quota and has continued good work that his forebears began and he believes that looking at all that is going on, in the interest of peace and stability, in the interest of development of the Kumasi Metropolis, it [is] time for him to bow out and allow another to come and continue the work that has already commenced. So that is the reason why he decided to lay down his tools and to pave way for another to come in to continue the work that had already started.”
