Explosions hit Kumasi shop, two severely injured

Two successive explosions and an ensuing fire have destroyed the Daviva textiles shop in Kumasi and injured several people.

 

Two successive explosions and an ensuing file have destroyed the Daviva textiles shops in Kumasi and injured several people in the Ashanti region.

The explosion which shook the entire Unicon Building that houses other shops and companies like Prudential Life,  Somovision and standard Chartered Bank also smashed the windows of offices and shops across the street.

Apart from two staff of Daviva who sustained life-threatening injuries, pedestrians and drivers were also injured by flying glasses.

Bales of clothes, documents, a generator and other properties in the building were burnt to ashes.

The fire started around 8pm during a downpour and the two injured staff of Daviva  are on admission at KATH.
