Spokesperson for Korle Bu Senior Staff Association to be sanctioned

The Senior Staff Association, led by Charles Offei-Palm, had called for the removal of the Chief Executive of the hospital, Dr. Gilbert Buckle, after passing a vote of no confidence him.

The Spokesperson for the Senior Staff Association of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Charles Offei-Palm is likely to face possible punishment after being accused of gross misconduct and insubordination to the Board of the Hospital.

The members of the association have accused him of mismanaging the hospital’s internally generated funds and paying what they termed needless judgement debts.

The Korle Bu Nurses and Midwives Association has subsequently written a letter to the health ministry and have copied the president, demanding the resignation of the CEO of the hospital.

However, the Board Chair of the hospital, Anthony Mawuli Saller has indicated that the calls to have the CEO resign are baseless.

He added that aggrieved staff had refused to meet with the Board for the issues to be solved.

The Board has therefore, in the letter dated December 23, 2015 and addressed to Mr Offei-Palm described his attitude as one that shows "disregard for the hospital's policy and procedures for media engagement".

The letter also accused  Mr Offei-Palm of "acting in a way that tends to tarnish the corporate image of the hospital and bringing the name of the hospital into disrepute."
