Chinese man arrest sub-chief in Tamale for allegedly stealing a car

Mohammed Hafiz, Chief of entertainment at the Dakpemah Palace and head of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly Taskforce was accused of fleeing with a vehicle belonging to the Chinese under the guise of test-driving before making payment for it.

According to Starrfmonline.com, it is alleged that sub-chief travelled to Accra in August this year and showed interest in buying the vehicle but fled to Tamale during a test drive moment, with the excuse to respond to an emergency call from the chief of Tamale, His Royal Highness Mohammed Alhassan Dawuni.

The Ghanaian worker who accompanied the Chines to the Place later told a group of assemblymen that the sub-chief had promised to wire the money into his account when he got to Tamale, but failed to do so for three months now, hence the decision to storm the palace.

After a closed-door meeting with the chief and elders, the car in contention was returned to the Chinese and they returned to Accra.

A member of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly who said the development was a shame to both the Dakpemah Palace and the Assembly, has hinted of hurling the sub-chief before the assembly’s disciplinary committee for investigation and sanctions.

Meanwhile, Mohammed Hafiz has declined comment on the entire development with a promise to address it on his radio show today.

He said “I want to give you an exclusive on my own show tomorrow evening 92.1, so everybody should listen to that one… It’s going be on my show.”
