The association claims they have not received any reply from the management, even though they had earlier issued a 48-hour ultimatum to them on Monday 4 April 2016.

Speaking to Pulse News, Mr. James Clifford Oblitey, General Secretary of KOSSA, said the association was not going back on its earlier position after a request by the management of the teaching hospital for the removal of Mr. Charles Offei-Palm as president of the association.

This request was made on 24 March 2016 in a letter signed by the Director of Human Resource of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for and on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer.

The interdiction was prompted by an interview allegedly granted to Accra based Class FM by Mr. Offei-Palm, in response to media reports on the Auditor-General’s report. The AG’s report highlighted financial lapses the hospital had encountered following the retirement of the former C.E.O, Prof. Nii Otu Nartey.
