“Any personnel who have already served the nation will not be paid and the laws of the country even do not accept it. We always receive complaints from this personnel saying they have not been paid for some months but I want them to understand that those who have already served and have been paid already but chose to undertake the service again will not be paid.”
The government approved to pay a monthly allowance of GHC 559 to each National Service personnel.
The NSS allowance was increased by President John Mahama in his last days in office.
Meanwhile, the National Service personnel across the country have for the past two (2) months not received their allowances.
Nana Boakye also added that the enrollment of service personnel this year alone increased which he believes delayed in payment of the service allowance.
He, however, indicated that about 9,000 personnel have so far been paid as at Wednesday afternoon.
