Korle Bu senior staff demonstrate; wants CEO to resign

This was after the Board of the hospital accused the Spokesperson for the Senior Staff Association, Charles Offei-Palm of gross misconduct and insubordination to the Board of the Hospital.

Some members of the Korle Bu Senior Staff Association have demonstrated against what they call attempts by the Board and management of the hospital to intimidate their leaders.

The Senior Staff Association, led by Charles Offei-Palm, had called for the removal of the Chief Executive of the hospital, Dr. Gilbert Buckle, after passing a vote of no confidence him.

The members of the association have accused him of mismanaging the hospital’s internally generated funds and paying what they termed needless judgement debts.

But, the Hospital Board in a letter dated December 23, 2015 and addressed to Mr Offei-Palm, described his attitude as one that shows "disregard for the hospital's policy and procedures for media engagement".

The letter also accused  Mr Offei-Palm of "acting in a way that tends to tarnish the corporate image of the hospital and bringing the name of the hospital into disrepute."

The development has however angered members of the Senior Staff Association who have therefore marched to the hospital’s administration block in solidarity with their members being intimidated.
