Bombande thanks Mahama

Bombande, who is currently the Special Adviser to the UN General Secretary’s Special Representative to West Africa, was yesterday July 11, 2016 nominated as the Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister by President Mahama.

“In all humility, I am grateful to his Excellency the President. There is no greater service than the service to your country and people”, he said.

If approved by parliament, he will work under Foreign Affairs minister Hanna Tetteh.

Emmanuel Bombande wrote on his Facebook page, “I just came out of a meeting assisting my Boss the Special Representative of the Secretary General and Head of the UN Office for West Africa and the Sahel as he presented and briefed the Security Council on the Secretary General’s Report on West Africa and the Sahel.

I followed the news from back home of His Excellency President John Mahama’s nomination of my humble self to serve in his Administration and assist his Foreign Minister as her Deputy Foreign Minister. In all humility, I am grateful to his Excellency the President.

There is no greater service than the service to your country and people. I am grateful His Excellency has called me to Public Service. When the President of the Republic and Commander in Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces calls you to service, you respond.

I am responding with much appreciation and humility. Grateful that I can assist you and your Government with all my abilities and integrity.
