We Support George Andah To Beat Hannah Tetteh - OccupyGhana

OccupyGhana has thrown its weight behind George Andah to wrestle the Awutu Senya West constituency from incumbent Hannah Tetteh.

Pressure group, OccupyGhana, has given its blessing to one of its leaders Nenyi George Andah to enter into full time politics, having declared his decision to contest for Parliament on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party.

Andah confirmed to the media on Monday he is eyeing the Awutu Senya West parliamentary seat being occupied by Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Minister Hanna Serwaa Tetteh.

His announcement has raised a lot of eyebrow since OccupyGhana members have branded themselves and their activities as apolitical.

In an statement from the pressure group said: “We are therefore pleased that one of our members has taken a bold step towards further participation in the development of our nation by entering active politics.

“OccupyGhana believes that across the different divides and wedges that 'separate' us in this our one Ghana, we ALL want to see positive change and to ensure that Ghana develops to its full economic potential!

“OccupyGhana therefore believes that George’s decision to enter into frontline politics opens up a new chapter for the credibility of OccupyGhana, as George's sterling leadership qualities and principles, which have helped bring us this far, are hopefully now going to be made available to Ghana at another level: Parliament.”

"OccupyGhana is equally satisfied and excited that George has decided to take his rare qualities another step, this time into mainstream politics to occupy Parliament in order to help change the dwindling fortunes of this country.

Ghana is richer for a person like him making a sacrifice of leadership. Who is better placed to help Ghana work, than one of our own in the forefront? People like George make us believe Ghana will work again."
