He made this known when he appeared before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament, on Wednesday April 20.

According to him, the organisation is still in debt following some monies it borrowed to cater for victims during the June 3 flood and fire disaster which claimed over 200 lives.

"...If it [disaster] happens today, we will not be in a position to give the appropriate relief we should give," he added.

Meanwhile,  the Auditor-General's 2011 report also identified that forty-five staff of NADMO have squandered an amount of GH₵56,123 belonging to the State for no work done.

In his response, the Acting National Coordinator of NADMO said that his outfit has so far been able to recover GH₵13,881 out of the total amount leaving a balance of GH₵42,242.70.

“We are still trying to pursue those who took these monies without working. We are working with the Ashanti Regional Police Command to see how possible we would be able to recover the amount”, he told the Public Accounts Committee.

Officials of the committee subsequently advised the NADMO boss to seek support from the Police in order to ensure the money is recovered as soon as possible.
