The milestones that have marked NPP's six months of governance
A lot has happened since Nana Addo was sworn in as President. This is a recap of the major highlights of his administration so far.

It’s already six months since Nana Addo’s swearing in as Ghana’s first man. It hasn't been all rosy but definitely has been filled with a lot of talking points both sides of the majority and the minority.

Sankofa Speeches, A Stint of Hope and Wavering Promises
One would expect the bliss of the ceremonial swearing-in of the president in his dignified Kente colors to be enough a highlight for the first days of his administration. However, the blunder of some parts of his speech plagiarized made the ceremony all too memorable.
Ghana, at least the crop of generation would never forget this…especially social media.

"I ask you to be citizens: citizens, not spectators; citizens, not subjects; responsible citizens building your communities and our nation."
Nana Addo refused to be unfazed by the trolling queens and kings of the media and plummeted inflation to an astounding 13.3% from 15.4% in December 2016.
But the President’s new feat would be severed by an increase in fuel prices starting by just a 2% increase still it rose to 10%. The public wouldn’t spare him their scathing opinions.
But more promises were made when Akuffo Addo gave a ‘We’re going to fix it’ speech in Gabon when the country’s President Adama Barrow sworn in during the 52nd Independence Day celebration of The Gambia.

Macho Support; National Service Wahala
Nana Addo seemed to have found favor in the eyes of civil society leaders, activists and professional.
Everyone was professing their support for the President and Sheik Shaributu was in the lead to profess his assistance for his vision. Every company was delighted to support the government’s initiative.
He probably had all the support he could have but not from the expectant National Service Personnel whose excitement for an increment was about to be coiled into anger.

Shrewd ex-President Mahama had announced a 60% increase in the allowance for national service personnel just after he lost the elections. They didn't care that the president who signed off the increase was no more. So when they were not paid, they were pretty mad.

Budget Promises and Parliament Brawl
Nana Akufo Addo’s first budget was fully promised packed. It had the “One Village One Dam” campaign ease quality water supply in rural Ghana. “One District One Factory” initiative to ensure an even spatial spread of industries and “The Planting for Foods and Jobs”. It also announced the Ministry of Education’s plans to implement free secondary education in September for the 2017/18 academic year.
Before that, Mahama Ayariga was found guilty of contempt by the Joe Ghartey committee after he alleged that the Energy Minister bribed members of the Minority on the Appointment Committee. When he gave a "Mr. Speaker if you say I should apologize, I apologize" plea parliament overturned and also led to a fight.

Nurses Hustle, Scandal Bustles
Graduates from nursing schools all over the country were hopeful of immediate postings having been promised by the president. However, when their needs were not met, a vigil was health by a group nurses in demand of immediate clearance and posting and garnered a lot of media presence.

Our Government has Come
Pro NPP activist groups have smothered the image of the President. The Delta Force’s storming of the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council, demanding the removal of the Regional Security Coordinator, George Adjei is a disgrace Ghanaian politics
The Invisible Forces, a militia group in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have also built a reputation for confiscating properties that seem fit to take.
Ghana where is your love…RIP Captain Mahama

Captain Adam Mahama, an officer of the 5th Infantry Battalion was sent to Denkyira-Obuasi in the Upper Denkyira West District of the Central Region to maintain order in relation to galamsey troubles in the area.
Unfortunately, he was lynched to death on suspicion that he was an armed robber. For over a month, Ghanaians mourned the dead soldier and opened discussions about mob action in the nation.
The murder also substantiated the call by civil organizations for the end of galamsey.
