“I’m going into farming” – Afari Gyan

Dr Afari Gyan who retired as chairman of the EC on June 17, 2015 says he intends focusing on his farm which he has maintained for quite some time now.

 

Former chairman of the Electoral Commission (EC), Dr Kwadwo Afari Gyan says he will not miss the position which he has held for 22 years.

“I have done this work for a very long time. Everybody gets tired of doing something for so long and so no, I will not miss it,” he said on Starr FM’s Morning Starr.Dr Afari Gyan who retired as chairman of the EC on June 17, 2015 says he intends focusing on his farm which he has maintained for quite some time now.“I have always said that I will be going into farming. I have had a farm for the past 17 years and I am going to pay attention to it. I have fish and Noni in my farm; those are the only things I grow now,” he noted.

Dr Afari-Gyan chaired the conduction of presidential and parliamentary elections in 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012 and was part of the commission that conducted the 1992 elections, as a deputy commissioner.
