The Volta River Authority has had to close down its power plant in Tema for lack of crude oil to keep operational. Pulse Business' checks have revealed the company has borrowed 1.3 billion dollars from banks so far to power the plant. But banks have now refused to grant the Authority letters of credit to finance the purchase of crude oil. ECG as a result is shedding extra 400 MW of power from today.

 

Investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas has said he would not be cowed into 'docility' in spite of threat on the lives of his family. Anas' previous works, which included exposing several misdeeds and acts of corruption especially people in public offices, have earned him a lot of enemies. Speaking to BBC in an interview, the undercover journalist said he still remains resolute despite threats on the lives of his family.

 

Africa's richest and most powerful man, according to Forbes, has resigned as Chief Executive Officer of his flour company, Dangote Flour Mills. His resignation reportedly comes on the back of South Africa's Tiger Brands' withdrawal of investments in the Flour Mills. The South African investors announced their decision to pull out of the company, citing a personal need to explore various alternatives with regard to their investment in Dangote Flour Mills

Reports on Sunday indicated Andre Ayew and Jordan Ayew had taken knocks during Saturday’s training at the Accra Sports Stadium. But the entire team were however declared fit to play the FIFA World Cup qualifier against Comoros on Tuesday
