Bimbilla curfew reviewed

This was contained in a statement signed by the Minister for the Interior, Prosper Bani. The statement said the review was done based "on the advice of the Northern Regional Security Council and by Executive Instrument"

Government is therefore urging chiefs, opinion leaders, youth and people of the areas to exercise restraint in the face of challenges confronting them and to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area.

The statement further indicated the "there is a total ban on all persons in the Bimbilla Township and surrounding areas from carrying arms, ammunition  or any offensive weapon". Any person found with any arms or ammunition "will be arrested and prosecuted".

The curfew hours on Bimbilla was previously 6:00pm to 6:00am. Meanwhile curfew hours have also been reviewed for Alavanyo and Nkonya in the Volta Region, Kpatinga and Bunkpurugu in the Northern Region.
