Afoko speaks on Agyepong abandoning him in court
Suspended general secretary, Mr. Agyepong was on Thursday expected to mount the witness box but failed to appear as anticipated.

This means he will no longer be a witness in the Paul Afoko vrs the NPP court case.
Speaking to Pulse.com.gh, the Spokesperson for Afoko, Nana Yaw Osei said even though he and his team had “pieces of information” earlier on that Mr Agyepong was likely to show disinterest in the case, they still had hopes that he would have considered to stay on as witness.
“Before yesterday, there were still pieces of information to the effect that even though he had put in the witness statement out of his free will, we knew that once that has been done it is only a matter of time that he got his turn to mount the witness box. And somewhere along the line we started having some pieces of information that he may not come but we thought that look when the day was due he will make good his promise. And so we needed not to have come out to say this is what we were hearing and all that,” he added.

Afoko’s spokesperson however stressed that the decision “is not going to have any serious effect on the matter.”
“If he had come it would only have confirmed some of the things Mr Afoko and other witnesses had told the court already. It is not the question of if he refuses to come then Mr Afoko’s matter fails, far from that,” he added.
Paul Afoko is contesting his suspension from the NPP in 2015 in court.
Kwabena Agyepong was expected to testify on Thursday to back claims by Afoko that he was wrongfully suspended from the party.
The development brought to an end the case of the plaintiffs paving way for the NPP to open their defence.

Paul Afoko, headed to court last year after the National Council of the NPP upheld the decision of the party's disciplinary committee of the party to suspend him.
Kwabena Agyepong and Sammy Crabbe who is first vice chairman were also suspended.
Sammy Crabbe also challenged his suspension in court but his case was dismissed. He has however decided to appeal the court's decision.
