But the NDC on Saturday subsequently warned that the task-force could compromise peace and stability.

Sulemana Braimah commenting on the issue in a Facebook post said, "Such a committee only creates an avenue for people to hide behind the cloak of partisanship to seek undeserving public sympathy."

Below is his Facebook post:

COMMITTEE TO RETRIEVE STATE ASSETS UNNECESSARYWhy should a government set up a Committee to retrieve state property from people who are keeping such assets unlawfully? When someone unlawfully takes something that does not belong to him or her, it's stealing. Should we be setting up committees to go after people who steal? Or we are talking about some people being above our laws? Such a committee only creates an avenue for people to hide behind the cloak of partisanship to seek undeserving public sympathy. People who have taken and are keeping state property unlawfully, even if bicycles, must be arrested by the police, prosecuted and punished? That is the way to go to end the unfettered greed among some people. What is this business of spending our resources on a committee to do the work of the Police.
