Three members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have dragged party Chairman Paul Afoko and General Secretary KwabenaAgyapong to court for contempt.

Kwame Owusu Ansah, Sarpong Kumankuma and Anthony Gyamfi Ameyaw sued the two leaders of the party to compel them re-run elections in the Juaben, Kumawu and Manhyia constituency.

The Supreme Court unanimously dismissed an application for certiorari brought by the NPP Kumawu chairman, Joseph Danso, against the settlement reached between the party and its members in the three constituencies.

According to the application for contempt, the applicants say the national officers of the NPP are deliberately refusing to carry-out the court’s orders even after several written reminders.
