The Minority in Parliament has lashed out at President John Mahama over his failure to give Ghanaians the true state of the nation address.

The Minority in Parliament at a press conference to present its side of the “true state of the nation address,” Minority leader Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu said the several failed promises of the government have depleted public confidence in the system.

“It all looks like they all resort to an assortment of promises and not caring too much about how to redeem those contractual obligations; after all they have ghost, dwarfs and opposition elements to blame when they cannot deliver,” he added.

He however accused the president of painting a very rosy picture of the state of the nation despite the restlessness being felt among the citizenry.

Mr Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu stated that “The nation has become restless and yet the President paints a very rosy picture… It is sad to relate that when the President had the opportunity to open up on the real state of the economy, he sprinted away from the facts because that is indeed the Achilles heel of the government.”
