Tension at NPP HQ after regional chairman's death

Party supporters who are gathered at the headquarters say they believe the national chairman, Paul Afoko and the General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong masterminded the attack on Mahama

 

Pulse.com.gh can confirm that some supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have stormed the party’s headquarters in Accra following the news of the demise of its Upper East regional chairman, Adams Mahama.

The situation has led to a heavy police presence to ensure that no scuffle is recorded.Party supporters who are gathered at the headquarters say they believe the national chairman, Paul Afoko and the General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong masterminded the attack on Mahama.

Two men poured acid on the regional chairman of the party, Adams Mahama, when he was returning from his construction site late last night.

According to Mr. Adam’s aide, Zakariah Osman, the NPP chairman was in his car when he was stopped by two unidentified persons, and in an attempt to inquire the reason why he was stopped, they poured the substance on him.

The regional chairman was rushed to the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital where he lost his life.
