Police in the Eastern Region have rounded up 15 suspected criminals in the New Juabeng municipality in a raid Thursday morning.

The seven-hour raid dubbed: "Operation Father Christmas," is geared towards ridding the area of criminals, particularly ahead of the Christmas season.

Police retrieved two slabs of cocaine, 20 wrappers of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, a parcel of wee seeds, plants, two cutlasses, one knife, five pair of scissors and a laptop from the suspects upon their arrest.

Meanwhile, a notorious drug pusher who abandoned his taxi and managed to escape arrest is being sought after by the Police, Accra-based TV3 has reported.
