"Swallow your pride and learn" from bond slip– Adongo tells finance minister

The financial analyst turn politician made the comments in response to Ken Ofori-Atta’s description of the Minority as ignorant on how bonds are issued.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Newsfile Saturday, Mr Adongo said the $2 billion was issued with a callable feature which can be redeemed at any point in time.

“It is better to swallow your pride and listen and learn,” he said.

Appearing before parliament last Wednesday to answer a "half hour motion" on the bond, Ofori-Atta, the bond issuance was transparent and that the Minority lack  understanding of the actual processes involved.

“It may be tempting to say that the apparent attempt to manufacture some form of integrity deficit is generally borne out of a lack of understanding of the actual process on the part of the manufacturers. But, that may be deemed too charitable, considering the CVs of some of the personalities involved,” he said.
