IPAC meets today over new voters' register

The Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) is expected to meet “active” political parties on Friday, August 21 to discuss issues regarding the electoral reforms and the call for a new voters' register.

The leadership of the New Patriotic Party have therefore petitioned the EC to compile a new voter's register with claims that the register is flawed and cannot be used in the 2016 general elections.

This suggestion has generated a lot of controversy with the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) calling it “frivolous” and “fraudulent”.

The meeting is scheduled to be held at the head office of the EC.
