Defeated NPP parliamentary aspirant for the Korle Klottey constituency in the Greater Accra region, Philip Addison has submitted a petition to the party’s general secretary over Sunday’s polls.

He was accompanied by over 100 supporters as he stormed the party’s headquarters Friday.
Mr. Addison who was the lead lawyer for the NPP in the 2012 election petition case polled 22 votes against his main competitor, Nii Noi Nortey, who won the primaries with an overwhelming 393 votes. A third candidate, Nii Adjei Tawiah, polled 19 votes.
Mr. Addison’s decision to petition the party’s general secretary comes after he was snubbed by the flagbearer of the party Nana Add Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Tuesday after he decided to submit a petition to him.

Among the issues he wants the party to address include; the illegalities in the entire election process; uncertain date for voting and the fact that half of the delegates did not vote in the party’s Korle Klottey parliamentary primary.
Meanwhile, a founding Member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has accused Philip Addison of inappropriate conduct.
Speaking to the Daily Graphic on the controversial primary held on Sunday, August 2, 2015, to choose the party's parliamentary candidate, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe charged, "Addison behaved like a spoilt child used to having his way. When he realised that he lacked grass-roots support, he attacked the integrity of the chairman and general secretary of the party. As a politician, for me, it was a sign of desperation.
"And it was disturbing that he called his supporters to disrupt the voting on Sunday.”
