Election 2016 CPP nominates Gabby Nketia as running mate

CPP believes the nomination of Gabby Nketia will enhance the party’s chances of winning the December 7 presidential election.

Nana Gabby Nsiah Nketia has been nominated by the Convention People’s Party (CPP) as the vice presidential nominee to partner its presidential candidate Ivor Kobina Greenstreet to contest the December 7 presidential polls.

In a press release signed by the Director of Communication of the CPP, Issifu Kadiri Abdul Rauf September 29 noted: “The party took this decision squarely on the account of his versatility, understanding of the party's philosophies, and his great exposure and maturity.”

CPP believes the nomination of Gabby Nketia will enhance the party’s chances of winning the December 7 presidential election by complimenting the presidential nominee:“he will effectively complement the flag bearer given his deep understanding of the predicaments of the country”.

Born on October 1, 1943, at Fiapre near Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana, Nana Gabby Nketiah is a retired diplomat, traditional ruler ( an honorary title conferred on him by the people of Duayaw Nkwanta in the Brong Ahafo Region), and a businessman.  He served as Ambassador to Korea under the Kufuor administration in 2008.

According to the CPP, Gabby Nketia shares in the ideologies of Ghana’s first president Dr Kwame Nkrumah and was his guitarist back in the days.

He is also an engineer and has served in the Ghana and British armies married to Monica Nee Kusi with five children.
