Nana Nketia believes that the re-introduction of the “apprenticeship scheme” is the best way to mitigate the challenging circumstances of youth adding that it will go a long way to curb the social vices which have bedevilled the country.

“Our target is the youth and how to secure their future. The CPP is willing to make it work again. We’ll discuss this on our level as a party and lay a plan to that effect,” the CPP running mate said.

Speaking on Accra-based Kasapa FM Nana Nketiah said although fiscal consolidation is necessary for maintaining economic progression; bringing back age-long modules that existed in the past regimes can help to address the economic issues confronting the country.

“We’ve become too fixative on the GDP’s and macroeconomics; You need to go down to the black stars days. During the CPP era, I was in the military-Boys company which set up NAP, where I got the opportunity to go abroad and enrolled with Army Apprentice School. If you didn’t have the opportunity to go to second-cycle institution, you have the option of being engaged in apprenticeship, and it should be done in all towns and communities nationwide,” he said

He added: “attaching the boys and girls to the head-dressing salons, dressmaking, carpentry shops, farming and all that, will be the sure way to solve youth unemployment and also mitigate the problem of rural-urban drift.
