"I want to change Ghana back to Gold Coast" - George Boateng

According to George Boateng , he believes reverting the name of the country will result in a  transformation of the economic fortunes of the country.

 

George Boateng, the man who stepped up to challenge incumbent president, John Dramani Mahama, has revealed his intentions to change the name of the country back to Gold Coast upon hiss election into officeHe said this while speaking on Okay Fm’s "Ade Akye Abia" Morning Show. According to George Boateng , he believes reverting the name of the country will result in a  transformation of the economic fortunes of the country. According to him the name Gold Coast, carries more blessings.

“…when I become President, I will change Ghana to Gold Coast, the land of gold. This is because the name carries blessings to transform the country again back to its old state, as it used to be a paradise; that’s what I will do...if you travel outside, the white people still refer to us as Gold Coast,” he continued.

The gentleman who had earlier declared that he was only contesting John Mahama because he wanted to free Ghanaians from "hardship and slavery".

He therefore implored Ghanaians for their support in his quest to become the NDC’s flagbearer and subsequently, win the 2016 elections to become President of Ghana.
