The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has advised the opposition New Patriotic Party to recycle its 2012 manifesto for the upcoming elections.

He argued that since the NPP did not get the opportunity to execute its agenda in their 2012 manifesto they could just rehash it for the public.

“So they [NPP] can present their 2012 manifesto if they don’t have a new manifesto so that Ghanaians will assess them based on what they can offer. After all, they couldn’t be in power so they did not have that opportunity to implement that 2012 manifesto.”

Speaking to the crowd who were mainly NDC supporters gathered at the EC headquarters when Vice President Kwesi Amissah Arthur submitted the nomination forms of President Mahama, Asiedu Nketia said the delay in their (NPP) manifesto launch coupled with the continuous change of date show the NPP lacks ideas.

“If they actually believe in what is contained in it [2012 manifesto] they can still recycle it and present it and we don’t have any problem with them.”

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) will launch its manifesto for the 2016 election on October 8 after they moved the venue from Tamale to Accra.

Earlier the NPP said it would only launch it manifesto after the NDC to prevent them (NDC) from copying their ideas.
