Her candidacy is being challenged by incumbent Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle, Nii Armah Ashitey, whom she beat to the party’s ticket for the November 2016 parliamentary poll.

According to Nii Armah Ashietey, Zanetor is not a registered voter and thus her election must be declared null and void.

Lawyers for Dr Rawlings have subsequently filed an application at the Supreme Court arguing that the High Court did not have jurisdiction to hear the case.

The lawyers are seeking "an order of prohibition directed to the His Lordship Kwaku T. Ackah Boafo of the High Court restraining him from proceeding to hear the dispute between the applicant and the interested parties pending a decision in the apex court."

Dr Zanetor Rawlings on 28th April, 2016 registered with the Electoral Commission as a voter in the ongoing limited voter registration exercise.

However, lawyers for the incumbent MP have argued that her registration will not save her in the case at the court.
