This is because the Electoral Commission (EC) has revealed that it will begin exhibiting the 2016 register of voters in September after registering eligible voters in the just-ended continuous voter registration exercise.

Deputy Head of Communications at the EC Alhassan Yusif Ayuba told Accra-based Class FM that “come early September, we will exhibit the register for all persons who registered under the continuous registration and also persons whose names we deleted because of the Supreme Court order. …We will exhibit those registers at the various polling stations where they registered for them to go back and check the correctness of their details,” Mr Ayuba stated.

The EC held a two-day continuous registration exercise. They later described the exercise as very successful. The exercise offered first-time voters the opportunity to register ahead of the December polls.

Alhassan Yusif Ayuba, said after the registration the Commission can now go ahead to exhibit the register. This is because they have completed both continuous and limited registration exercises as well as the deleting of names of persons who registered with National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) cards in compliance with an order from the Supreme Court.

Though Ayuba did not indicate the exact date the registration will commence he said it is expected to commence in early September.
