According to him, in the last four years his government has invested almost 3 billion Ghana Cedis in the road sector alone.

The president said this when he paid a courtesy call on the Omanhene of Yeji and President of the Brong Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs, Nana Pemapin Yaw Kagbrese, on Tuesday October 4.

He told the chief and people: “Some people are saying our roads are bad, as if the roads were tarred and I came to destroy them. But we are fixing the roads. My government has done the most massive investment in the road sector in the history of Ghana. Over the last four years, we have invested GHS3billion in the road sector across the country. That is, from the North to the Volta Region to Axim to the Western Region, feeder roads are being transformed while bigger roads in the cities are being asphalted to make them last.”“In Yeji, we have a policy that every district capital must have about three to five kilometres of town roads so it is our responsibility to construct those roads for you. We are working on the Kintampo-Abease-Pram road, Atebubu Junction-Kwame Danso-Kadeji road. In the North, we are also expanding the road network, so by 2021 when I leave office, all the major roads leading to Yeji would have been expanded and constructed,” the president promised.

Touching on the economy, the president said: “The cedi is one of the most stable currencies in the whole of Africa; inflation is down. Recently, Moody’s ranked Ghana’s economy from negative to stable. I will not shy away from the problems in the energy sector. I stood before parliament and said I would fix the energy crisis. Today, I and Kwabena Donkor, with God’s help, have improved the energy crisis and in the near future, we will have excess energy to export.”
