NDC will win election 2020 – Portuphy

The Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Kofi Portuphy has said that the NDC is working tirelessly to wrestle power from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2020.

Portuphy in an interview with GhOne TV said the NDC is working tirelessly to wrestle power from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2020.

He added that after the humiliating defeat in 2016, the NDC has learnt from its mistakes and will work to be a better party than it in the previous election.

“We have the men. Our management capabilities are high, we are skilful and we have demonstrated it before. In terms of the last election, we could not put our acts together, we must accept that one, but I am saying that we are working very hard.”

“We are not going to pride ourselves only in the past, but we are working very hard to overcome the bridges that we couldn’t build. We must now build the bridges properly, so we can interact with both sides of the stream,” he added.

Some NDC members blamed other party bigwigs for the misfortune of the party after the 2016 election.

A committee led by Kwesi Botchwey was formed to look into the causes of the defeat.

Even though the committee has presented its report to the executive body of the party, they are yet to release it to the general public.
