NDC wants to wipe PNC from parliament - Bernard Monah

"Courtesy requires that for the fact that we have continued to work with you in parliament support you in government and alleged our sole MP to work with you one would have thought the NDC will say we will prefer to deal with is matter in a manner politicians will agree mutually."

The Peoples National Convention PNC has accused the National Democratic Congress NDC of scheming to wipe the party from parliament.

This is after the party claimed the NDC is yet to honour some gentleman agreements reached after the 2008 election.

General Secretary on the PNC, Bernard Mona said on Citi fm, the NDC has gone ahead to field candidates in constituencies the PNC has incumbent MPs since 2008, a move which breaches  the agreement between the two parties.

"They have contested and fielded candidates against us. In 2012, leading to the parliamentary primaries, the NDC discriminated between sitting MPs and what they describe as orphan constituencies. In describing orphan constituencies they targeted the PNC constituencies where we were supporting them in parliament as orphan constituencies and they went ahead to parade for primaries in those constituencies. Eventually by their actions we lost that seat." Bernard Mona said

The party said it has collaborated and supported the NDC in diverse ways and it's saddened that the NDC has not reciprocated this show of support.

The PNC has only one seat in parliament now, Builsa North represented by Alhassan Azong who has aligned with the NDC majority in parliament.
