CDD et al are NPP front organizations - Dr. Percy

Dr. Percy said the GII, CDD and IEA are NPP front organizations.

A leading member of the National Reform Party, Dr. David Percy has labelled all Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) leading the conversation on corruption in Ghana as New Patriotic Party (NPP) front organizations.

During a panel discussion on Radio Gold over the weekend, he mentioned Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD), the Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII) and the Institute for Economic Affairs (IEA) as being examples of CSOs which are NPP front organizations.

“In Ghana, all the Civil Society Organizations that are active in the conversation, in the measurement of corruption, in conducting surveys started out as NPP front organizations – IEA, the CDD, the GIII; all of them,” he claimed.

According to him, it is possible that these CSOs are still NPP front organizations therefore, “one cannot approach anything they do and the circumstances under which these things are launched and think that it is just happening as a matter of chance.”

The CDD, GII and IEA are known for the role they play in the fight against corruption bad governance and mismanagement in public institutions through the frequent reports they release from researches they conduct within the country.

According to Dr. Percy however, through the help of these CSOs, the NPP has been able to determine and trumpet that corruption and competence must be the number one issue on the national agenda.
