"I will banish poverty from Ghana" - Akufo Addo

Addressing NPP members in the Upper East Region on his ‘Rise and Build’ tour,  Nana Addo urged all party members and executives to work hard with a united front to win the 2016 general elections.

The presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Akufo Addo, has promised banish poverty in Ghana under his presidency.

He said he would do it through a comprehensive restructuring of the economy, geared towards eliminating all difficulties Ghanaians are currently going through under president Mahama’s National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.

“…And what will the victory mean, it mean we can then begin to do something about poverty in our country. We can do something about restoring a decent educational system, a decent health care system, decent agriculture system and a decent road transportation system.

“This is what victory is going to mean, that we are going to get away from all the difficulties that we are having now. The difficulties of paying our children school fees, the difficulties involving in getting people going to the hospital, the difficulties of the farmers who don’t get the inputs for their work, all these the NPP will banish if we are given the opportunity of power because we have done it before and we are coming back to do it again.”

He reiterated that  the NPP will ensure a stable and stronger Ghanaian cedi to the US dollar to harness business transaction international and create a an enabling business environment that will create employment for the teaming unemployed.

“And above all, I want you to go away remembering  one thing, I am not a thief, I am not coming to put my hands in Ghana’s money for my pocket and that of my family, I am coming to work for you, I am coming to work for you so that we will have a better life,” Nana Addo stressed.
