Hon. Nii Amasah Namoale has retained his seat at La Dade Kotopon Constituency after accumulating 2,564 votes representing 46.8% of the 5,410 total valid votes cast at the just ended NDC Presidential and Parliamentary Primaries.

He beat his opponents; Augustine Nii Amoah Nai and T.T Caternor who had 525 votes representing 9.58% and 2,321 votes representing 42.36% of the total votes cast respectively.

President John Dramani Mahama, who went unopposed for the Presidential seat accumulated 5,065 valid votes out of the 5,642 valid votes cast.
In an interview with Pulse.com.gh, Hon. Nii Amasah alleged that his opponents cheated in the election though he had no substantial evidence to back his claims. "My contenders have always been cheating in this election but I keep winning. They have tried on many occasions to make sure I lose but I trust in God so their plans never work," he said.

Commenting on whether he will work with them (his opponents) or not after claiming they cheated, he said "Why not? I will work with them. It is to the interest of the party."
He also dedicated his win to his 15-year-old daughter Vanessa Namoale because she is his inspiration despite the insults he has been receiving from his opponents. "I dedicate this win to my beautiful daughter Vanessa Namoale who has been my inspiration. Despite all the insults I have been receiving, she tells me 'daddy, go for it'," he revealed.
Moving forward, Namoale, who claimed he can never be defeated in the constituency said he will intensify his developmental projects, education for especially the vulnerable ones, health, youth development and apprenticeship trainings. "I will concentrate on developments, youth development, apprenticeship trainings, health, youth development, and education, especially for the vulnerable ones," he emphasised.
Finally, he promised to beat his opponents in the upcoming General Elections by increasing votes by 20,000.
With the exception of minor scuffles at the Roman Catholic Primary School and St. Maurice Roman Catholic JHS polling centres over missing names in the voter's registers, the NDC Presidential and Parliamentary Primaries at Dade Kotopon Constituency was peacefully and successfully held.

Hon. Nii Amoah was on July 14, 1958 and hails from La-Accra in the Greater Accra region.
He holds an MPhil (Agronomy) from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, which he obtained in the year 2000.
He served in the Ministry of Food and Agriculture as Assistant Director before his appointment as MP after he obtained 42,678 votes out of the 74,499 valid votes cast = 57.3% in the 2012 elections.
He is married with three children and is a Christian with the Church of Christ.
