I am tired of being a leader of the NPP - Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu

"If i had my own choice  like i will want to step out there."

 

In an interview with GHOne he said "speaking for myself being candid i am really tired for being in leadership of the party for 16 years it is not a small matter."

Kyei Mensah Bonsu had been in parliament for 16 years and has been minority leader for 8 years.

With his party in majority in the next parliament Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu is expected to be the Majority leader and subsequently be in charge of government business in the house.

He said "all manner of people telling you if you leave it could cause a problem for the incoming government . it's like people are pleading with you to stay and yet it's a difficult thing "

He has been in parliament since 1996 and has held various leadership positions in the house. He is seen as one of the "Mugabes" in parliament who are well vexed in parliamentary affairs.

In Parliament, he has been  the Secretary of the Minority Caucus (1997-2000), Deputy Majority Whip and later Majority Chief Whip (2001-2004), Deputy Majority Leader, Member of the ECOWAS Parliament, among others.
