2016 is not a two horse race - Nduom

According to Dr. Nduom however, the dominance of the two major political parties will no longer be seen in the 206 polls.

In a post on his Facebook page, Dr. Nduom stressed that “2016 is NOT a two horse race. It is NOT between NDC and NPP. It is NOT between Akufo-Addo and Mahama.”

The PPP leader said gone are the days when the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) dominated the election saying, “that may have been before dumsor, monoccocal meningitis, IMF squeeze, wanton use of our tax money to fund a personal campaign, killer taxes, unending internal division in NPP, concentration on winning an election with no policy alternatives, etc., etc. Not any longer!”

Over the years, the smaller political parties in Ghana have failed to make any meaningful impact in national elections with many calling on them to join forces to form a third political force.

Others have also suggested that Ghana should be declared a two-party state since the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have dominated the country’s elections since 1992.

This, he said was due to the fact that “the PPP's message of change, to elect MMDCEs, implementation of FCUBE, using state resources to support local entrepreneurs, separation of Ministry of Justice from the Office of Attorney-General, incorruptible leadership and job creation is catching on.”

“The people like the PPP's coalition idea of using the best people to solve Ghana's problems. The youth are excited. The progressives are taking one village at a time. Are you a believer? Change is possible!” he added.
